As a water-front town, Lakes Entrance is a very popular holiday destination all year round, including during the winter months. Water based actives are a must with the beautiful Gippsland Lakes and the 90 Mile Surf Beach at your door step. Lakes has two patrolled beaches during summer, The Main Beach and Eastern Beach. Another nice spot for swimming in the ocean is Lake Tyres Surf Beach. For surfing the best spot is Red Bluff Beach

Visit the amazing Buchan Caves. Dating back 300 million years. Would recommend doing the early tour of the Royal Cave then straight to the Fairy Cave. And a well earned lunch at the Buchan Pub www.facebook.com/BuchanCavesHotel/
There is the Lakes Entrance Golf Club that has plenty of water hazards. Mini Golf is a great family activity. There is mini golf close to the house. But the 2 course on The Esplanade are a lot more interesting (kid friendly)
Fishing is also very popular past time. Riviera Bait seem to be the friendliest shop for supplies and advise. Fishing is not my favorite pass time am more of a fan of watching the trawlers unload, then buying a fresh fish at their shop. https://www.facebook.com/offthewharf/
